Marlon Preciado scored four goals, all in the first half, to lead Hackensack to a 5-0 boys' soccer triumph over Westwood. Preciado converted off a long throw-in from Carmine Maceri to put the Comets ahead early in the contest. Then the sophomore scored three times in less than seven minutes late in the first half to secure control of the contest.
Preciado's first goal in that sequence came on a penalty kick after a hand-ball call against Westwood. Jordon Bailey and Derek Amoah recorded assists on the other two scores. Kevin Cruz-Lanuza put a shot home late in the second half to complete the scoring. Wily Peralta had four saves as he earned the shutout for Hackensack. The Comets are now 7-5 and the win helps boost their position for the state tournament in North 1, Group IV. Westwood, which was playing its first game in nine days, falls to 1-10.
