A penalty-kick goal late in regulation allowed Midland Park to tie its girls' soccer game against Waldwick and push the match to overtime. After two scoreless extra sessions, the neighboring rivals finished the contest in a 1-1 draw. Victoria Vado converted the penalty for Midland Park after Emma Lein was taken down in the box with about three minutes left in the second half.
Waldwick had scored early in the second half when Haley Larsen headed home a cross from Ellie Neugebauer. The Warriors' goalie, Amanda Craven, made nine saves in the contest. Tess Steuerwald stopped eight shots for Midland Park. This was the second meeting of the season for these two squads; Midland Park took the first game 2-0. The Panthers are now 8-4-1 overall.
