The Essex County field hockey quarterfinal between Montclair Kimberley Academy and Millburn was pretty much a one-way affair. MKA dominated the game and recorded a 5-0 victory over the visiting Millers.

Kelsey Palmisano had two goals and an assist and three other Cougars also scored. MKA had such dominance of possession that goalie Molly Peek had only one save to record the shutout.

Rachel Hegarty and Gina Guccione scored in the first half to stake the Cougars to a 2-0 halftime edge. Paige Pacifico made it 3-0 before Palmisano added her two goals for MKA. Bridget Stanton had two assists.

Montclair Kimberley, the third seed, will now face second-seeded Montclair in the semifinals. The Cougars improved to 7-2 with the win.

Millburn got 10 saves from goalie Cassidy Guerin. The sixth-seeded Millers are now 3-4-1.
