The first time felt so good, Montclair Kimberley wanted to do it again. For the second time this season, the MKA boys' soccer team knocked off Seton Hall Prep, one of New Jersey's top squads. This 2-0 victory came by the same score as the previous win, with Malcolm Dixon and Sam Eisen scoring the goals for the Cougars.
Remarkably, MKA, which is just 6-5-1 overall, has handed Seton Hall Prep its only two losses of the season. The Pirates were ranked #1 in the state at the time of the first game, and were sitting at #2 coming into this one. Dixon broke the scoreless tie in the later stages of the first half, following up a Ross Musicant shot that hit the crossbar. In the second half, Dixon sent a long ball ahead to Eisen who chipped it over the charging keeper. David Kauffman made eight saves for the Cougars, including several key stops with Seton Hall pressing for the tying goal. The Pirates were coming off a disappointing and tiring game on Saturday when Millburn held them to a tie in the Essex County tournament semifinals, then won the shootout to eliminate Seton Hall from that event.
