In a game marked by strong defense, excellent goalie play, and some sloppy offense, North Hunterdon managed to move on in the boys' lacrosse state tournament. The Lions pulled away in the second half for a 6-2 win over Livingston. Zachary Koehler made 10 saves for North Hunterdon, and the Lions' defense forced a number of turnovers. Offensively, Sean Wood scored two goals and added an assist to lead the way.
Bobby Brennan also scored twice for the Lions. Declan Laskey and Rob Marron also had goals. Livingston goalie Stephen Russo was tremendous in this North Group IV contest. Russo made 17 saves, and several of the goals that got past him came on unorthodox shots. Eddie O'Donnell and Jared Bayer had the goals for the 11th-seeded Lancers. Livingston finishes its season at 5-12. North Hunterdon, the sixth seed, improves to 11-6. The Lions next face third seed Morristown in the extremely difficult North Group IV sectional bracket.
