Delbarton knew its match in the Non-Public A sectional semifinals would come down to bonus points. Unfortunately for the Green Wave, the Crusaders would win that battle and end their bid for a second straight state title.

Bergen Catholic held off Delbarton 32-28, scoring some key bonus points in upper-weight bouts, and limiting the damage to the Green Wave in Delbarton's strong lower weights. The result sends Bergen Catholic to Friday's sectional final against St. Peter's Prep.

Delbarton won seven bouts, but could not overcome Bergen Catholic's advantage in the upper weights. The Green Wave strategically forfeited two bouts but the move did not pay off.

The Green Wave will now focus on the individual state tournament, where they have a chance to put several wrestlers on the podium in Atlantic City.
