The six-team event featured three teams from the NJAC: Montville, Whippany Park and the host school. The Wildcats came away with three individual winners and the Mustangs grabbed two titles. Lenape Valley sent seven wrestlers to the finals but came up short in each match, falling to a Blair wrestler in all but one weight class. Blair Academy has been the top high school wrestling program in the nation over the past 15-20 years. The private school based in Blairstown has so many quality wrestlers that it sometimes splits up its squad during tournaments and sends the 'B' team to local events. Also participating in the Lenape Valley event were North Plainfield and West Windsor-Plainsboro North. Neither team had a single wrestler reach the final round. In a solid team performance, Whippany Park sent seven men to the finals, coming up with winners at 113 (Matt Mastrobuono), 132 (Marc Muzeni) and 182 (Stevan Webb). Montville had just three finalists, but two earned titles: 170-pounder Parker Meytrott and heavyweight Ethan Fox.
