The rain in Wayne stayed mainly on the playing field, while a deluge of goals lifted DePaul to its second boys' lacrosse victory of the young season. Bradley Paterson had two goals and four assists as the Spartans knocked off Mahwah 13-7. Robbie Williams scored four times for DePaul in the game played in a heavy rain throughout.
Riley Clark added three goals and an assist, while Devon Shuster scored twice for the Spartans. Goalie Collin Modelski made 13 saves. Mahwah got two goals apiece from Alec Tzanateas and Erik Wong. The Thunderbirds are now 0-2. DePaul, which edged defending Passaic County champion Lakeland in its season opener, improves to 2-0.
