Passaic Tech did all the little things and it added up to a big baseball win. The Bulldogs surprised Passaic, 3-2 in 8 innings, after falling behind early. A run scored on an error in the bottom of the eighth to lift Passaic Tech and deal the Indians just their second loss of the season
Raphiel Santos conceded two runs in the first inning, but then kept Passaic scoreless through the seventh. The Indians had several chances to score, but had a couple of hard-hit balls fall into outfielders' gloves. Passaic Tech played solid defense, with just one error on the day. The Bulldogs cashed in on a Passaic error to score in the fourth, then tied the game in the fifth. Jared Quintero smashed a ball to shortstop, and while Niloyny Rijo made a tremendous play to get the out at first, the tying run scored from third. In the eighth, Passaic Tech's first two hitters delivered singles. Erick Roque then scored the winning run from second after a relay throw on an attempted double play got away. Eddie Peralta pitched one inning to get the win for PCTI. Joey Garcia went the distance for Passaic. Passaic Tech is now 8-5 while the Indians fall to 11-2.
