Ramapo outscored Passaic Tech in each quarter as it moved on to the finals of its own holiday basketball tournament. The Green Raiders pulled away to record the 57-38 triumph in the semifinals of the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament. Jason Oppler led Ramapo with 16 points, while K.C. Hunt added 14 for the Raiders. Matt Wingfield scored all of his 10 points in the second half. Ramapo busted the game open with a 10-point run late in the third quarter.
Passaic Tech sophomore guard Toknowa Thomas scored a game-high 17 points. This game was a rematch of last year's tournament final, which was also won by Ramapo. This year's Raider team, despite losing most of its key players from last season, is now 4-1. Ramapo will take on Wayne Hills in the tournament final.
