Boonton still harbored hopes for the football state playoffs entering its Week 8 game at Hopatcong. But the Chiefs had other ideas.

The Bombers rallied to tie the score in the third quarter, but the Chiefs got the go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth, and held on to win 20-14. The loss ended Boonton's playoff dreams as the Bombers fall to 4-4.

Unfortunately for 5-3 Hopatcong, it is also on the outside looking in at the football postseason.
