Wayne Valley was the favorite entering the annual Mayor's Cup boys' lacrosse game against Wayne Hills. The Indians would come out on top, but it wouldn't prove easy. The Patriots nearly erased a four-goal deficit in the final quarter before coming up short, 9-8.
Alec Doyle and David Drozjock scored three times for the Indians. Billy Crank had two goals and Brendan Feddema made 10 saves in the net. For Wayne Hills, Ryan Kardux poured in four goals and Robby Schiller scored twice. The Patriots fall to 3-5 on the season; three of those defeats have come by a single goal.
