VIDEO: IHA remains (almost) perfect with shutout win over DePaul | ||

Immaculate Heart Academy has pretty much lived up to its first name so far this girls' soccer season. With a 5-0 triumph over DePaul, the Blue Eagles ran their record to 14-0 and posted their 13th shutout of the year. Freshman Rebecca Jarrett scored twice for IHA. Alex Mesropyan, Sara Foley and Julianna Shrekgast also had goals, while Molly Younghans contributed a pair of assists.
As is often the case, IHA goalie Taylor Lupi didn't have to do too much work to earn the shutout, as the Blue Eagles controlled possession much of the time. Starting goalie Shannon Marmo made eight saves for DePaul, while Alli Hennion had five stops after coming on at halftime. The Spartans fall to 4-7-1. The Blue Eagles have allowed just a single goal all season, yet they remain ranked #2 in New Jersey. That's because Northern Highlands is again holding down the top spot, and this year not just in the state, but in the entire nation as well. The two Bergen County teams are headed for an October 30th regular-season showdown, and seem likely to meet a second time in the county tournament final.
