Ryan Passaro pitched a four-hitter and the Wayne Hills offense gave him plenty of support in a baseball win over rival Wayne Valley. The Patriots scored five runs in the first two innings en route to the 8-1 triumph. Joe Curcio led the attack for Wayne Hills, going 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs batted in. Andrew Easse was 3-for-3, driving in a run and scoring two.
Dan Colon had a pair of hits, including a double, and 2 RBI for the Patriots. Dan Abate tripled and drove in a run, and Brian Marcus had a run-scoring single. On the hill, Passaro struck out four and walked just one in going the distance. Wayne Valley's only run came in the sixth inning, when Jake Blumenstyk drove home Alex Kokos with a single. Kevin Woll had two hits for the Indians, who fall to 10-8. Wayne Hills continued a tremendous season, improving to 17-3 with the win. The triumph also clinched the outright title in the Big North Independence Division for the Patriots.
