Besides his brother's touchdown, Hunter Hayek was the offensive star for Wayne Hills. He caught a pair of touchdown passes in the first half, then switched from wide receiver to running back because of an injury to starter Luca Grave. Hayek ended up carrying the ball 15 times for 97 yards, including a 29-yard touchdown scamper.

Devera completed 7-of-13 passes for 89 yards and three scores.

Jason Modak led the Wayne Hills defense with 11 tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery. Mike Zaccone recorded 12 tackles for the Patriots.

Wayne Valley had a sizeable advantage in both yardage and possession time, with four long scoring drives. Grant Ferrauilo completed 20-of-29 passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns. All three scoring throws came on fourth-down plays as the Indians built a 21-13 lead at halftime.

Jordan Montero caught three passes for 47 yards and two scores. Joe Scancarella made five catches for 51 yards and one touchdown.

Nick Gould piled up over 200 yards of total offense, rushing for 178 yards on 25 carries, while also catching nine passes for 35 yards.

The tough loss drops Wayne Valley to 7-2 to complete the regular season. The Indians will sit out a bye week, then head into the North 1, Group IV state playoffs, where they will be the third seed.

For Wayne Hills, it's the second straight season they've come from behind in the second half to defeat Wayne Valley. The Patriots are now 7-1 and will be the top seed in North 1, Group IV, meaning these teams could meet again in the sectional final.
