Pouring 56 shots on goal, the Lakeland ice hockey team earned a 5-0 victory over Ramapo. Dan Martin scored twice for the Lancers and Carl Lorenz stopped 27 shots to record the shutout. Jake Joyce had a goal and two assists for Lakeland, which built a 4-0 lead in the opening moments of the second period. Andrew Heck and Luke Broderick also scored for the Lancers.
Luke Mutterer made 51 saves for Ramapo. With this win at the Ice Vault, Lakeland improves to 4-2-1 on the season. The Lancers are coming off a successful campaign last winter in which they won 22 games and reached the state quarterfinals. Ramapo slips to 2-3-1.
