VIDEO: Pequannock surges in second half to down Boonton

After a sluggish start, Pequannock broke out offensively in the second half on its way to a boys' basketball win over Boonton. The Panthers scored 44 points after the break in their 68-54 victory.

Austin Van Wingerden led the Panthers with 15 points, including an emphatic dunk to cap off the win. Grant Borovskis added 13 points for Pequannock, which picked up its first victory of the season.

Jon Wilson scored 12 points and Ryan Hitchcock contributed nine for Pequannock. The Panthers led 24-21 at the half, then scored 26 points in the third quarter alone.

Boonton kept the game competitive until the final minutes largely thanks to Ty Dauti. The senior forward hit five three-point shots and poured in a game-high 27 points.

Nate Maquiling added 16 points, including 10 free throws, for the Bombers. Boonton falls to 0-2.

Pequannock improves to 1-1 with the win.
