Pascack Hills made just 11 baskets in the entire game in its second-round Bergen County Jamboree match-up with Ramapo. But the Cowboys' defense and foul shooting was good enough to make those few hoops stand up for a 39-33 boys' basketball victory. Nick Guillemain scored a game-high 19 points for Pascack Hills, including 10 points from the free-throw stripe. Michael Murphy contributed 15 points for the Cowboys.
Jason Shill's three-pointer broke a 24-24 tie in the fourth quarter, giving sixth-seeded Pascack Hills the lead for good. Only three players cracked the scoring column for the Cowboys, but they limited Ramapo to just 10 baskets in the game. K.C. Hunt paced 11th-seeded Ramapo with 11 points. Jason Oppler added 10 for the Green Raiders. It's the second straight year that Ramapo has been knocked out of the Jamboree by Pascack Hills. The Raiders are now 9-10 this season. Pascack Hills improves to 15-2 and will advance to the quarterfinals to meet third seed St. Joe's (Montvale) next weekend.
