VIDEO: Mahwah stops Madison in baseball state semifinal | ||

Madison enjoyed a tremendous baseball season, winning league and sectional titles. Unfortunately for the Dodgers, they didn't have their best day in the state Group II semifinal against Mahwah. The hard-hitting Thunderbirds busted open a close game in the middle innings and went on to post a 12-2 win. Mahwah pounded out 14 hits and were also aided by three Madison errors.
Dodgers pitcher Mike Wallace, who came in with only one loss all season, looked solid through two innings, but didn't have his best stuff. Mahwah, which scored 11 runs in the sectional final against Pequannock, took advantage. The Dodgers made solid contact at times against Mahwah ace Chris Baldi, but hit in some bad luck. Madison did push across two runs in the third inning on an RBI double by Connor Higgins and a Joe Grato sacrifice fly. Madison ends its season at 21-8.
