Coming off its first win of the season, the Passaic Valley baseball team appeared poised to grab another victory when it rallied to tie Fair Lawn after four innings. But it was all downhill from there for the Hornets. The visiting Cutters scored 10 runs over the final three innings to post a 13-3 triumph over Passaic Valley in Big North Independence Division play.
Fair Lawn had 17 hits on the day, and spread its offense around well. Five different players drove in two runs apiece. Starting pitcher Alec Moschel battled through six innings to pick up the victory. For Passaic Valley, Ian Hanley and Brian Stanton had RBI hits. Stanton reached base three times on two hits and a walk, while Kevin McCabe went 3-for-3 for the Hornets. Fair Lawn improves to 3-1 overall and within the Independence Division.
