Wayne Valley faced its toughest test of the football season to date, and the Indians earned a top grade. Behind another huge performance from Nick Goodwin, Wayne Valley defeated Paramus 31-14 to stay unbeaten. Goodwin, the Indians' quarterback, ran for 136 yards and scored three touchdowns in the first half. Goodwin also threw for 191 yards and tossed a touchdown pass to Ryan Monteyne in the third quarter for the game's final score.
Monteyne caught four passes for 94 yards, while Nick Gould ran for 65 yards for Wayne Valley. The Indians came up with a number of key defensive plays, including three interceptions. Michael Ocello picked off two passes and Tyler Walther also came up with a theft. Justin Botero had a pair of sacks. Derek De La Cruz scored both Paramus touchdowns in the first half. De La Cruz ran for 90 yards and one score on the ground for the Spartans, and caught a 66-yard touchdown pass from Christopher Gass. But Paramus couldn't break through the Indians' defense after halftime as it fell to 2-2. Wayne Valley is now 3-0.
