In a workman-like effort, the Montclair ice hockey team preserved its perfect record with a win over Parsippany Regional. Four different Mounties scored goals in the 4-1 home triumph. Defenseman Brock Bowers paced the offense with a goal and two assists. Shane Duffy, Coby Antinoro and Mike Gerne also scored goals, while Remy Parker contributed three assists. Montclair poured 50 shots on goal in the contest.
Rich Martin had the only goal for Parsippany Regional, a combined team of Parsippany and Parsippany Hills high schools. Martin deflected in a shot by Jadon Hoyt in the third period. Parsippany goalie Steven Krolian piled up 46 saves, but his team fell to 3-7-1 on the season. This non-league game was a rematch of a state tournament contest from last season, in which Parsippany nearly pulled off an upset before falling 3-2. Montclair is now 9-0. The Mounties are one of only two New Jersey hockey teams without a loss or a tie this season, along with St. Joseph (Montvale).
