It seems safe to say the Frisch School ice hockey team has exceeded all expectations in its first season of varsity competition. The Cougars scored a 6-2 win over West Orange as they continued their winning ways. With another victory the next night against Pequannock, Frisch improved its record to 6-2-1. The Cougars appear to be on their way to a berth in the state playoffs, as they are eligible for the NJSIAA Private tournament.
In the West Orange game, Frisch got two goals apiece from Joseph Tropp and Sammy Wietschner. Tropp also had two assists. Maury Bauer and Yisrael Solomon added goals for the Cougars. Benjamin Feintuch had three assists and goalie Charlie Freilich made 25 saves. Frisch charged out to a 3-0 lead after one period. West Orange got goals from Davey Campbell and Nick Aloi.
