Pingry is the defending Non-Public B boys' lacrosse state champion, and the Big Blue is looking like the solid favorite to repeat this year. An 11-6 win over Immaculata, expected to be one of the top challengers, further enhanced Pingry's status. This was a game largely dominated by the Big Blue, with the exception of a four-minute stretch late in the first half. Austin Chang paced Pingry with five goals, including four after halftime as it pulled away for the win.
Ben Shepard had three goals and three assists for Pingry. George Enman scored once along with three assists, while Thomas Zusi and Jake Moss notched a goal and an assist apiece. Immaculata fell behind 5-0 but erased that deficit with a five-goal spurt in four minutes just before the half. But the Spartans didn't get much else going offensively the rest of the game. Tyler Kojac, Chris Kirschner and Connor Entwistle scored two goals apiece for Immaculata. Alex Hoffman had three assists. Immaculata falls to 2-4 on the season. Pingry stays unbeaten with a 7-0 record. For sports video |
