It was a game befitting a battle of Top 20 teams, and Montgomery got the last laugh. Kyle Marrapodi scored in the second overtime to lift the Cougars to an exciting 8-7 boys' lacrosse triumph over Pingry. Nico Ipeker scored four times for Montgomery, including the game-tying goal with just 1:02 left in regulation. Dan Engels added two goals for the Cougars and Matt Stagnitta had a goal and three assists.
Pingry trailed 6-3 late in the third quarter, but scored four straight goals to take the lead. Ben Shepard had two goals and an assist for the Big Blue and George Enman also scored twice. Jake Moss, Thomas Zusi and Max Cummings had the other Pingry goals. Frankie Dillon and David Metzger combined for 11 saves. The Big Blue is now 9-2. Mike Yanovitch made 15 saves for Montgomery, which improves to 10-2 with the victory.
