Jose Ledesma led the way as the Passaic baseball team pulled out a tough 6-5 victory over Fair Lawn. Ledesma earned the win on the mound, and drove in three runs, as the Indians picked up their 15th triumph of the season. Ledesma struck out six batters as he battled through to pick up the win. At the plate, he delivered a two-run inside-the-park home run in the third inning that tied the game 3-3. Later, Ledesma drove in another run as the Indians pulled out the victory.
Jhericson Taveras, Erick Durian and Joey Garcia also contributed RBIs for Passaic. Jorge Liranzo had a triple. For Fair Lawn, Domnic Barbarulo drove in two runs in the sixth inning to tie the game 5-5. Barbarulo also had a double in the Cutter's three-run third inning. Ryan Rue and Garrett Litvak also drove in runs for Fair Lawn. It's been a tough season for the Cutters, who are now 5-19 and will miss out on the state tournament. Passaic improves to 15-8. The Indians will be the eighth seed in the North 1, Group IV sectional bracket and host Memorial of West New York in the first round.
