T.J. Caswell ran for four touchdowns as Manville earned its first victory of the 2016 football season. After trailing briefly in the second quarter, the Mustangs dominated the rest of the game to secure a 34-13 win over Pingry. Caswell had 149 yards on 26 carries to lead the Manville rushing attack. The Mustangs controlled time of possession, especially in the second half, and threw only five passes in the contest.
Jameer Campbell added 51 rushing yards. Nasir Peek returned the opening kickoff of the night 85 yards for a score as Manville burst out to a 12-0 lead early in the first quarter. Pingry fought back with a pair of lengthy touchdown passes. Joe Passumato threw a 60-yarder to Obi Nnaeto on a halfback pass, then Spencer Spellman tossed a 36-yard pass to Channing Russell to give the Big Blue a 13-12 lead. But Pingry never had another sustained drive the rest of the game. Manville improves to 1-1 with the win, while Pingry falls to 0-2.
