Parsippany Hills continued its late-season charge by scoring an impressive win in the football sectional semifinals. Gaining revenge for a defeat earlier in the season, the Vikings dominated West Essex 37-13 to advance to the North 2, Group III final. Nick Verducci ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more to lead the way for fourth-seeded Parsippany Hills. The Vikings won their fifth consecutive game since their loss to West Essex in mid-October dropped their record to 2-4.
Verducci ran the ball 30 times for 173 yards and three scores. He also completed 10-of-15 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Kyle Davis caught both of the touchdown passes, making three catches in all for 54 yards. Wilson Done ran for 114 yards and caught a screen pass that set up one of the Vikings' touchdowns. Cormac Bradley booted a 31-yard field goal to give Par Hills a 17-0 halftime lead. West Essex struggled to sustain any drives throughout the contest. Its two touchdowns came on Zach Lemanski passes in the second half; Will Perez and Drew Lepre made the TD catches. The Knights, who were the bracket's top seed, see their season end one game shy of the state finals at 7-4. Parsippany Hills, also now 7-4, will take on third seed Morris Hills in the North 2, Group III sectional final the weekend of December 2-3.
