With a couple of thrilling buzzer-beaters serving as highlights, the Morristown-Beard boys' basketball team enjoyed a one-sided win over Parsippany. The Crimson dominated the second and third quarters en route to the 70-37 victory. Raphael Castillo had a game-high 12 points for Morristown-Beard, including a wild shot from past half-court to end the first quarter. The ball bounced on the rim several times before falling through. Castillo also had nine rebounds for the Crimson.
Justin Rodriguez had the other buzzer-beater, a long three-pointer just before halftime, and ended up with 11 points. Brian Monaghan also had 11 for Morristown-Beard, while Zach Dees scored 10. The Crimson led 41-12 at the half and 61-18 after three quarters. Youssef Riad led Parsippany with nine points and David Ton added eight. The Red Hawks slip to 2-5. Morristown-Beard is now 7-1, with its only loss coming against Hudson Catholic, currently ranked the #7 team in New Jersey.
