Ridgewood staged a big rally in the third quarter to take the lead in its girls' basketball match-up with Ramapo. But the Green Raiders owned the final period, and stormed back to pull out a 44-41 victory. Ramapo outscored the Maroons 12-2 in that fourth quarter to erase a seven-point deficit. Emily Calabrese led Ramapo with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Olivia Kraebel hit the go-ahead three-pointer with about two minutes to play.
Calabrese, who is committed to play in college at St. Bonaventure, also had five steals and three assists. Nikki Butler scored 10 points for Ramapo, while Kraebel had seven and Tori Muller scored six. Ridgewood trailed by 10 points in the second quarter, but shaved that deficit in half by intermission. Then the Maroons staged an 18-2 run in the third quarter to charge into the lead. Annie McCarthy led Ridgewood with 15 points. Katie Keyes scored eight for the Maroons and Brielle Sharry added seven. Ridgewood slips to 9-8 on the season. Ramapo is now 9-5 overall.
