VIDEO: Ramapo fights off challenge from Glen Rock in Jambo | ||

Ramapo faced a real test in the first round of the Bergen County Jamboree from a scrappy Glen Rock team. But Jason Oppler and K.C. Hunt made sure the Green Raiders would move on. Hunt scored a game-high 16 points and added 10 rebounds to lead Ramapo. Oppler notched 15 points and four assists; his hoop with just under four minutes left put the 11th-seeded Raiders ahead to stay.
John Whooley added seven points, while Andrew Curcura hit two big free throws in the final minutes. Ramapo led for most of the contest, but could never break away from the 22nd-seeded Panthers. Glen Rock finally took the lead early in the fourth quarter on Josh Frissora's three-pointer, but could not make the key plays down the stretch. Frissora led Glen Rock with 13 points and 12 rebounds. James Boisits had eight points for the Panthers and Luke Nuzzo added seven. Glen Rock slips to 9-5 with the loss. Ramapo is now 9-8 overall. The Raiders move on to a second-round showdown with sixth seed Pascack Hills, a rematch of a quarterfinal game from last year's Jamboree. In that contest, Pascack Hills upset Ramapo, which was the top seed in the tournament.
