The defending champions are back in the Morris County Tournament final after a dominating semifinal win. Chatham scored the first 11 points of the game and never looked back on its way to a 70-39 boys' basketball triumph over Randolph. The third-seeded Cougars avenged an earlier loss in a big way. After the fast start, Chatham never led by less than five points, and the Cougars put the game away with a 26-11 performance in the third quarter.
Mac Bredahl led Chatham's offense, scoring 18 points and dishing out several assists. Jack Rooney added 14 points for the Cougars. Graham LeMon notched 11 points, John Burkard scored 10 and Ryan Doherty added eight in a strong team effort. Defensively, Chatham held a tough Randolph squad to just 26 points over the first three quarters. Luke Nathan had 16 points to lead the second-seeded Rams. Justin Polesuk added eight points. Randolph slips to 17-6. Chatham is now 17-5. The Cougars will meet top seed Morristown-Beard in the tournament final this coming weekend, with the game once again held at the County College of Morris.
