Down 12 points at halftime, the Ramapo boys' basketball team staged a huge comeback to advance in the state tournament. The Green Raiders charged past Morris Hills for the 64-52 victory. With the win, seventh seed Ramapo not only stays alive in the state tournament but earns an unexpected home game. The Raiders will host #15 seed Bergenfield, which upset #2 seed Sparta in another first-round game in North 1, Group III.
Ramapo outscored Morris Hills 23-6 in the third quarter to erase its halftime deficit. The Scarlet Knights closed to within two points in the final period but the Raiders finished strong, led by K.C. Hunt. Phil Pydyszewski had a huge game for Morris Hills in defeat. The Scarlet Knights finish the season at 10-14. Ramapo has won five straight games and now sits at 15-11 overall.
