A big third-quarter run proved the difference as West Essex earned a 9-7 boys' lacrosse victory over Montclair Kimberley. The Knights scored five consecutive goals to pick up the win over their Essex County rivals. West Essex trailed 5-4 at the half before the big surge. Pat Dingwell and Jake Evangelista led the Knights' offense, scoring two goals and adding two assists apiece.
Thomas Pescatore also had two goals for West Essex. Jack Cerza contributed one goal and one assist, while Zach Lemanski and Patrick Delehanty had goals during the key run. Dan Laible made eight saves for the Knights. Ryan Dancy recorded a hat trick and also had an assist for Montclair Kimberley. John Hatfield added two goals, while Dominic Romeo and Dylan Hall also scored for the Cougars. Alex Melitz made 13 saves for MKA, which slips to 0-2. West Essex gets its first win to go to 1-1.
