Bergen Catholic has had the better of its boys' lacrosse rivalry with Don Bosco Prep over the past few years. But in the latest installment, the Crusaders put forward a truly dominant performance. The Crusaders scored nine goals in the second quarter to take a 13-0 halftime lead, en route to a 13-2 home victory. Shane Fable scored four goals and added three assists to lead the Bergen Catholic attack.
Jack Walker notched three goals for the Crusaders. Anthony Scozzafava and John Titolo had two goals apiece, while Jack Vinci and Brett Zabransky each added a goal. Starting goalie Dennis Priestner faced four shots in the first half and stopped them all for Bergen Catholic. Don Bosco Prep didn't score until less than seven minutes remained in the game. Justin Kim and Walter Grabelkis had the goals for the Ironmen, who fall to 1-3. Bergen Catholic, which opened the season with a road loss to one of North Carolina's top teams, is now 2-1.
