A Ridgewood team badly in need of a win broke out in the fourth quarter to post a 9-4 triumph over Bergen Catholic. The Maroons broke up a tie game by scoring five times in the final period to snap a three-game boys' lacrosse losing skid. Ridgewood had four goals in about two minutes early in that fourth quarter to break open what had been a tight contest throughout. Jack Barclay scored three goals to pace the Maroons on offense.
Quin Peene notched two goals and an assist for Ridgewood, while Wylie Sherman had a goal and two helpers. Jack Kiernan, Dylan Peabody and Dan Gioia also had Maroon goals. Ted Murphy and Ben Pounds combined to make 11 saves, with Pounds allowing just one goal in the second half. Shane Fable scored twice for Bergen Catholic. Brett Zabransky recorded a goal and an assist for the Crusaders and Anthony Scozzafava also found the net. Dennis Priestner had 16 saves in the defeat, as Bergen Catholic slipped to 3-3.
