A second-half surge allowed the Wayne Valley boys' lacrosse team to pull away for a victory over cross-town rival DePaul. The Indians scored nine goals in about 18 minutes as they posted a 13-7 road win. Tommy Pellegrino led the way for Wayne Valley with a huge offensive night, scoring four goals and adding four assists. Cal LaCarrubba and Nick Pindulic also made major contributions, recording three goals and one assist apiece.
The Indians led 4-3 in the final seconds of the first half, but LaCarrubba's goal just before the break sparked the big surge that allowed them to pull away. Cole Drozjock added two goals for Wayne Valley and Chandler O'Rourke also scored. Goalie Nick Beninati made six saves. DePaul got two goals and one assist apiece from Ronnie Hickman Jr. and Max Keenan. Dominic Witham scored once and contributed three assists, while Devin Mazepa had 15 saves. The Spartans fall to 1-7.
