Third period goals by Stephen Schwab and Graham Key allowed Ramapo to rally for a 5-5 ice hockey tie with Wayne Hills. Both goals came on a five-minute power play for the Green Raiders. It's already the fourth tie of the season for Ramapo, and the third for Wayne Hills. And as with most ties, it brings mixed emotions for both teams. For the Raiders, they're happy to pull out the draw despite trailing with five minutes to play. But Ramapo still had some disappointment at not scoring more goals on 18 third-period shots.
Wayne Hills will lament the major boarding penalty with just over six minutes to play that gave Ramapo the impetus for the comeback. But the Patriots will celebrate the 16 third-period saves by Chris Stammer, including a huge stop with just seconds left in the contest. Daniel Mirman had two goals and an assist to lead Wayne Hills. Matt Cappo, Lawrence Kruglyak and Tyler Mirman also had goals for the Patriots. Schwab scored two goals and added two assists for Ramapo, while Key had two goals and one assist. Dalton Graham scored the other goal for the Raiders and notched three assists. Maxx Trabattoni and Alex Pazos had two assists apiece and Cort Fodi made 18 saves for Ramapo. Stammer ended up with 29 saves for Wayne Hills. The Patriots are 1-3-3. Ramapo is now 1-3-4.
