Both Lakeland and Wayne Valley had a number of chances to finish in their girls' soccer matchup. It took until a second overtime, but the Lancers finally found the goal they needed.

Breanna Renshaw sent a swerving free kick just past the fingertips of the Wayne Valley goalie to give Lakeland a hard-fought 1-0 triumph. The win lifts the Lancers' record to 4-1 on the season.

Wayne Valley had the better of play in the early part of the game, and goalie Kelly Bracken had to be aggressive to prevent scoring chances for the Indians. Bracken ended up with six saves on the game.

The Lancers eventually got into the contest and created several excellent chances of their own, but goalie Brianna DeLuccia came through for Wayne Valley. It appeared the game might be destined to be a draw until Renshaw's well-placed free kick early in the second OT.

Wayne Valley falls to 2-3 with the loss.
