Passaic Tech came into its game with Wayne Valley with a perfect record this season. But an early score and some goalkeeping heroics allowed the Indians to spoil that record with an upset 1-0 boys' soccer victory. Nick Aubin made 13 saves for Wayne Valley, several of them in the desperate final minutes as the Bulldogs pushed forward, looking for a tying goal. Ryan Leonard had the game's only goal in the first half.
The Indians, who won only two of their first nine games this season, pulled off their second straight upset win. Wayne Valley defeated a higher-seeded Hawthorne team in a Passaic County Tournament second-round game over the weekend. Now 4-5-2 overall, the 14th-seeded Indians are set to face third seed Clifton in the county boys' soccer quarterfinals. Passaic Tech falls to 8-1 on the season. The Bulldogs are the top seed in the PCT and host Passaic in the quarterfinals.
