In a match-up of rivals in the first round of the Bergen County ice hockey tournament, Indian Hills got the better of Ramapo. Despite a long stretch of the game where Ramapo had the better of play, Indian Hills pulled away for a 6-0 victory. Rory Maurer recorded a hat trick for the Braves and added an assist. Matt Paiotti had a goal and four assists for Indian Hills, which raced out to a 3-0 lead after one period.
Liam Johnson added a goal and an assist for the Braves and Drew Lustig also scored. Goalie Darren Gentiluomo made 28 saves for Indian Hills. Gentiluomo came up big in the second period and the early part of the third, as 11th-seeded Ramapo fought to get back into the game. Indian Hills regained control later in the final period, adding three more goals to blow the game open. Luke Mutterer had 32 saves for Ramapo, which is now 3-8-3. Indian Hills, the sixth seed in the Bergen County tournament, takes on third seed Glen Rock in the quarterfinals. The Braves are 10-3-2 overall.
