A pair of key pins in the upper weights provided the difference as Caldwell earned a wrestling victory over West Orange. The Chiefs trailed heading into the final four bouts but came away with the 39-27 win. Christian Dalla Riva recorded a first-period fall at 182 pounds, and Mark Piersanti followed with a pin at 195 pounds, also in the first period. Those pins put Caldwell 11 points ahead with two bouts to go, and the Chiefs finished off the win from there.
113-pounder Ethan Stafford also had a pin for Caldwell and Gerald Jones notched a technical fall at 160 pounds for the Chiefs. Dan Fano earned a key win at 145 in sudden-death overtime. Victor Lopez, Michael Charles and Abraham Dada recorded pins for West Orange, which won a total of six bouts. The Mountaineers won three matches the next day to improve their overall record to 5-4. Caldwell picked up another win the next day and now holds a 9-1 season record.
